Running to Save Lives
Dear Family and Friends,
This year marks the 25th year my dad, Gus Peters passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma Non Hodgkin's Disease at the young age of 49. And on November 15th 2019, a dear friend (Beth Lazor Smith) who I met at the Marine Corp Marathon went in for surgery and never woke up. She, along with 2 other friends and I have ran in the past to raise funds towards Cancer Coalitions in hopes that one day we find a cure to Cancer. I'm running to continue to raise awareness to this horrific disease that has taken the lives of so many loved ones, to raise funds for a cure, and to honor the life of my dad, Gus Peters and my friend Beth Lazor Smith (Beth's Brigade).
With so many group races canceled this year, I have decided to keep training and create My Perfect Marathon. It is an opportunity to design my perfect race wherever and whenever I choose, while honoring those impacted by lung cancer. With all of us so aware of the importance of healthy lungs these days, supporting this vulnerable population is more important than ever!
Help me support GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. The funds I raise will advance their mission to transform survivorship by improving the lives of those vulnerable, at risk, and diagnosed with lung cancer.
You can also join my Cheer Squad on event day, if you are in the area. They will be socially distanced and having a blast cheering me on! Help me transform survivorship and save lives. #BeatLungCancer #MyPerfectMarathon
