Running in memory of Richard~ he will never be forgotten!
Beth Lazor-Smith! The mention of her name conjures up a picture of her wonderful smile, warm heart and loving nature!
Having been inspired by Beth, a group of us planned to return to Washington, DC to run the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) in 2020 in her memory and raise critical funding for lung cancer research, advocacy and support programs for patients and caregivers.
With both the 2020 and 2021 MCM races canceled due to CoVid-19, we aren't letting that stop us. We are still running our perfect marathon in our own communities to honor Beth.
For me, I will be running the Princeton NJ Half Marathon on November 14th.
If you were fortunate to have known Beth, you know that this is a cause that was near and dear to her. Our mission is to keep her passion burning with each dollar raised and mile run.
The organization Beth was closely aligned with, Lung Cancer Alliance, merged last year with the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, to form the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer. GO2 Foundation transforms survivorship as the world’s leading organization dedicated to saving, extending, and improving the lives of those vulnerable, at risk, and diagnosed with lung cancer.
They work to change the reality of living with lung cancer by ending stigma, increasing public and private research funding, and ensuring access to care.
When you donate to my fundraising efforts, you will be doing something tangible to help other families. Help GO2 Foundation continue to challenge assumptions, disrupt norms and discover breakthroughs. Beth would be all about that!!
Together, we will continue to break barriers and save lives. Oorah! #BeatLungCancer #MyPerfectMarathon
