I Am Walking in Memory of My Mom
My Mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in August of 2011 and she went to be with Jesus in March of 2013... she was only 51 years old. It breaks my heart to think of how much she has missed in the last seven years. Her only grandson is going to be a teenager soon, so many trips to the lake she has missed (that she loved) and I can't count how many times I could have used one of her "talks" or hugs. My Mom was my best friend, my cheerleader, my confidant and she was taken from me far too soon. There is a big misconception that only smokers get lung cancer and it affects the research efforts. My Mom was a smoker, but she didn't deserve to die....no one does. Lung cancer is the deadliest of all cancers, and yet it receives the least amount of funds for research.
That needs to change now.
This is why I am participating every year in the GO2 Foundation Walk/Run in Houston. Our next event is on Saturday, September 12, at Buffalo Bayou Park.
Please support me by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. The funds I raise will advance GO2 Foundation's mission to transform survivorship by improving the lives of those vulnerable, at risk and diagnosed with lung cancer.
An even better idea is you can join me on event day! Don’t miss this day of family fun as we come together to raise funding and awareness to transform survivorship and save lives. #BeatLungCancer
